I'm a musucista, organist and choirmaster, and do not particularly like this kind of songs but I recognize that the plethora of nineteenth-century compositions of the same kind, full of "Hail Marys" sugary rhetoric and ad nauseum, Franck's "Panis Angelicus", as well as the "Ave Maria" by c.
